Autumn Color Week :: Brown

These were all found under trees around my neighborhood. I'm pretty sure the little guys I'm holding are some form of an acorn. But what are these bigger guys? Are they chestnuts? Whatever they are, Burl and I love them. He stacks them from one basket to the other. I'm finding them all over the house, which makes me happy. I love, love, love that my boy loves nature!
Here are some of my favorite acorn photos: Here and Here and Here and Here.

beautiful photos, and I love your new banner. I think I can safely say those are definitely chestnuts. My sister and I used to play with them for hours as kids. Endless entertainment!

Conkers, definitely (from the horse chestnut tree)! Such a beautiful rich shoe-polish brown.
